Happy day #6

Today I would like to discuss about luck and happiness. This is going to be the chicken and egg story as I asked myself which one comes first? To have luck therefore you are happy or because you are happy therefore you bring luck?
For me, I would like to think that it is happiness that brings me luck. I felt that I am a lucky people as I am grateful of what I have and my surrounding. And I would like to describe happiness and luck like a boomerang. The principles of what you give away will find the proper way to comes back to you. Give or share your happiness and luck with others and magically it will make you happy and luck will comes back to you. I can’t explain why and how it happened but I can only say this is my personal experience.
But luck is like money, everyone will automatically pay attention to if someone said they can help to improve anyone's luck. So are you ready for some tips?
I read this magazine today and by the way it is a Feng Shui magazine. It said that if you want more good luck turn clockwise for three rounds. And if you want to get rid of bad luck then you have to turn anti-clockwise for three rounds. That's not too difficult and I think it is worth giving it a try.
Haha! Are you trying already? Ok I believe my good luck is on my way as sharing this luck tips with all.
Have a happy and a lucky day !

Happy day #5

Today I give myself a little learning space and take myself to seminar about innovation and the future technology. It is a good opportunity to meet up with many interesting people and they shared a lot of insights about the new ideas and ways to innovate.

What catches my attention most is the way we connect with each other and the way we keep connected. With all the new technology and gadgets we are connected anytime anywhere 24/7. The world is literally smaller, nearer and even reachable in many ways. Take Singapore for example, it is one of the countries with the highest penetration or take-up rate for mobile phone and internet access. Almost everyone has a phone, not just a traditional phone but many are holding smart phone. And we are in this era where we will feel very uneasy even emptiness if our mobile phone is not with us.

With me playing the devil’s advocate, I asked myself – now that we are so connected, contactable and reachable, are we now happier?

I believe many could not answer this question in a straight forward way because we can be far apart but near enough to talk or even see each other from miles away. And at the same time we are near but yet so far. Many families spend their weekend so called “together” but what actually happened was father is watching movies from computer, mother is learning cooking recipes from YouTube and kids are busy with Facebook, Twitter and other social media. It is a very common scene during family dinner gathering and everyone is busy with their phone and we called this new scene – “together loneliness”

Is this the price of modernization? While we improve our living standards, physical infrastructure, education and economic let us constantly remind ourselves to give a soft touch to the effect of this modernization. Whatever you are doing now, put it down and give your love one a bear hug and tell them you love them. That’s the secret of happiness.

Happy Day #3

Today one of my dear colleague decided to leave the company to peruse his new interest in life. I felt sad that his is leaving us but at the same time I am happy for him as he can now fulfill his dream.
That make me ponder, we can be sad and happy at the same time. Human mind or feeling is such a complex system that it allows the opposite feeling be present harmonily. That explained why we cry when we are over joy and laugh out loud when we are very upsad. I was just thinking if the two extreme opposite feeling can co-exist then nothing is impossible. And based on this assumption I will say happiness is definite a choose and not just a feeling from an uncontrollable source.
If we concluded that happiness is a choose then why isn't everyone choosing it daily or every possible moment.
Is it because every choice we made is followed by this thing called responsibility? And when we choose to take responsibility we can no longer hide behind a shield or blame the outcome to someone else but to face it all ourself?
I guess if you are not happy today or with your life maybe it is time to do some soul searching and stop blaming others for making you unhappy. If you are a happy soul, let me congratulate you for your brave action for taking responsibility for your own happiness and your own life.

Happy Day #2

Yesterday my friend Nancy asked me why I named my blogger name - nanook? I told her I got the name from Eskimo language and it means bear. I wish we all live a simple life like the Eskimoan but have the attitude like a bear when faced with life challenge. Living a simple life is not easy, we must be able to say enough when it is enough. The biggest problem we have is what is the definition of enough? In today's demanding world we just keep moving our goal-pole when we achieved  our first set target. We get obsessed with the material world and with or without knowingly want to have more. So maybe we should start asking ourselves the question - is it enough? Do I have sufficient ? whenever we want something more. It is all about self discipline, self control and some said self respect. And maybe by not having more that enough we have time to enjoy what we have rather than chasing for what we don't have. And by doing so we get happier.

Happy Day #1

In today's world, we hardly hear anyone saying that they are having a happy life. We have half the world struggling to have food on their table, battle for a safe roof over their head. While the other half of the world is suffering from too much body fats and big beautiful houses that they can't call home.
So it is not what we have that make us happy nor what we don't have that make us unhappy. So what is it?
I will reckon it is SHARING what you have with the person who need it that will make you happy.
I am sharing with you my happiness and hope this little note brighten your day and make me a happy soul too.
Enjoying it more as I am learning how to improve my blog.
